Narratives—Sisters, Longing, The Gaze and Glitter—combine historical and found images, and ephemera. This mixed-media series draws on the traditions of both collage and photomontage. These images were originally made with paper, then photographed and processed in photoshop. Like the surrealists who brought together disparate images to reflect the workings of the unconscious mind, Narratives also use unexpected juxtapositions and free association. The final photographs are layered with nuance and rich with suggestive narratives.
