In this series—A Still Life—the compartments of the printers’ trays, once filled with letters for hand-setting type, now offer a home to miniature treasures. The craftsmanship of each tiny perfection draws the viewer into the intimacy of a secret world, a step away from the chaos and clatter and chatter of unruly everyday spaces. This series is in the tradition of conceptual and creative still life photography. With the printers’ trays as the frames, still life is re-imagined. What do these collections tell us about the collector?
